The Tiger Sand Conch, Strombus sp., is an extremely effective scavenger that diligently clean aquariums of algae and detritus. 

Beware red hermit crabs can pose a threat to the Conch by trying to steal its shell - if you want  to keep with hermits, include some empty shells to reduce competition.
