Seachem Flourite Black Sand Planted Aquarium Gravel 3.5kg/7.7lbs
Flourite® Black Sand is a specially fracted stable porous clay gravel for the natural planted aquarium. Its appearance is best suited to planted aquaria, but may be used in any freshwater aquarium environment. Flourite® Black Sand is most effective when used alone as an integral substrate bed, but it may be mixed with other gravels. Gravel modifiers such as laterite are not necessary. Flourite® Black Sand is not chemically coated or treated and will not alter the pH of the water. Flourite® Black Sand is good for the life of the aquarium and need not be replaced.
Seachem Flourite is fantastic for growing plants in a freshwater aquarium and the black color REALLY makes fish colors pop. Only thing to watch out for is how dusty the sand is out of the bag. Spend some time washing it before adding it to the aquarium or just give it a few days for the fine particles to settle.
The planted gravel/sand I purchased worked well and is visually nice. It did take about 2 days for the particles to die down enough to have clear water however even with a new filter system on the tank. Overall I’m pleased.
